AUSTRALIA'S "TOILET" MAP - OUTHOUSE TOURS USA

NATIONAL PUBLIC TOILET MAP Hey! Would TRAVELSAPIEN make this up?
Australia has an official National Public Toilet Map. This map (website) is designed to assist travelers visiting the Country as to where they may find relief. Listed is everything you ever wanted to know about Public Toilets. Opening Hours, toilet features and access features tops the important read. In Australia you are assured there will be no surprises. Kind of nice actually.

Now you CAN plan in advance just where, you will have clean, functional toilets ready and willing. You can go so far as to time your arrivals. TRAVELSAPIEN almost got caught with pants down on this one. Wow! Impressive.
Thank you Australia. www.toiletmap.gov.au

Speaking of toilets in the USA they do it a bit differently. You can TOUR Outhouses around America! Now this is really kool. There is an event(racing) called "The Outhouse Classic" held every year in Trenary Michigan the last Saturday in February, precisely at 2. P.M. Why 2 P.M.? No idea. Trenary draws some 4500 people to witness the visual impressions of Outhouses of every imaginable design race for glory. It is not the user racing for the outhouse, but, the outhouse racing with it's peers. A lot of good times, beer and camaraderie start things off.

Not only that, but there are Outhouse Tours. You can visit these very "out of the box" designs as built in various USA States. Some are novel but all are functional it would seem. Sort of. Imagine crossing the Pacific or Atlantic ocean telling your friends you are on your way to a tour of "Outhouses Across America". Would love to see the expression on their faces.
The great site with all the details is www.jldr.com

TRAVELSAPIEN loves the idea. Just think at the end of each road you can find a little place to retreat and contemplate the day. Your pictures will be different when the neighbours drop by for a recap on your vacation. Actually not likely anybody will fall asleep. Got to love it

GULP! Is there enough washrooms?

AIRBUS A380 READY FOR TAKE OFF Singapore airlines will be the first recipient of this new monster sometime mid 2006. Virgin Atlantic, Air France, Lufthansa and the Emirates have committed to the new AIRBUS A380 but there are no USA carriers on the order forms as yet. Recovery in the USA is still underway and no one is ready to get aboard at this time. This plane is just huge. Longer, taller and wider than the next best thing. How big is big?

The AIRBUS A380, European built, contains a doubledecker passenger configuration. Hey! I thought that was just for England's big red bus. No. The AIRBUS A380 takes flying to a new height. No pun intended. It can hold more than 555 plus passengers. GULP! Sure hope there are enough washrooms. The range it can fly is 9,321 miles. The plane stands 261'8" with a height of 79' 7" compared to the Boeing 747-400 at 211"5" long, and 63" 8" high. Holy Moly. Who would have thought. Admittedly this certainly moves air passenger travel forward but we should insist on seating we can be comfortable with. Some airline configurations boast wildly their capacity at the expense of precious leg room. They talk about the least number of seats at 555 up to 900 something! Hello. Hello. I do NOT want to be on the sardine load thank you. Wishing everyone luck with this marvelous addition to the expanding World Tourism Industry.
One more thought is disembarking, especially hitting the immigration and customs lineups. Claiming luggage? Ouch! TRAVELSAPIEN wishes everyone well.
Gad. That should be something for the "What a trip I had" files.
www.airbus.com can fill your boots with information on this massive flying machine.

SUPER NATURAL British Columbia

BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA
Super Natural best describes this region of the world. British Columbia has recently won the bid to hold the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. These games will be shared between Vancouver, sitting on one of the world's most magnificent harbours, and Whistler Mountain, truly one of the world's premier four season destinations. Noted firstly for it's world class skiing, village restaurants, entertainment and people watching Whistler rivals destination resorts worldwide. Some of the worlds notable names in skiing, snow boarding, golf and tennis make Whistler their home. PGA Golf, mountain biking, and many other activities has made Whistler and the Pemberton Valley a premier spot on any travelers map any time of year.

The Province is broken into a number of geographical regions with a variety of climate variations including believe it or not an actual desert by definition. Not everything about British Columbia is winter as through out the year there are enough attractions and activities to satisfy the symphony goer to the avid backpacker, Motorhome traveler, Rail buff, or fishing fanatic. Don't forget the coastal region for boating and of course during the summer Vancouver is home for hundreds of sailings to Alaska along the inside straight and that is not about poker! One of TRAVELSAPIEN'S top choices for almost any holiday. Family, singles, young or the growing grey power traveler all find pleasure year round. An activity Province with lots to do and see.
TRAVELSAPIEN puts Vancouver, Whistler, and the Province of British Columbia high on a must do. For those searching for their dream time this could be the place!
TRAVELSAPIEN cannot endorse specific travel product represented on the Official site of British Columbia Tourism, however the portal offers you the opportunity to satisfy yourself that you have not missed an opportunity worth doing. www.hellobc.com

Specific holiday opportunities will be commented on ever so often giving further testament to putting it on any traveler's A-list. Whistler and Vancouver have their own official sites as well. www.whistler.com and www.tourismvancouver.com

HOLIDAY CRUISE ON A TUGBOAT - KOOL RIDE

JANUARY - FEATURE
Imagine Canada's West Coast "Inside Passage" on a vintage tugboat! This really is a unique form of travel, and, one up close look at the fabulous "Inside Passage". Plying off the coast of Canada's most westerly province, British Columbia, flanked by the waters of the Pacific Ocean this Tugboat holiday experience is unique, refreshing, and could be classed as a "must do". If you want cruising you can really brag about too your brassy, "big boat" neighbor's, this might just be the one to do it. Impressive to say the least.

Two 1941 Heritage "The Real Thing" tugboats! The tugs have been beautifully refitted too accommodate travelers looking for something completely different. If you are one to chase the Pacific Coast legendary salmon, or simply escape to ocean fish, it would be hard to find a better experience as well. Totally restored, 2 birth cabins, spotless washrooms, all the creature comforts complete with bathrobes, extra pillows, hairdryers, and select complimentary wines from around the world. Fabulous on board cooking fit for the discerning palate. Ultra fresh Sea Food to die for right from the waters off British Columbia coastline. So fresh from the sea, oysters, crab, salmon, mussels, halibut, snapper, and much more. Beachside barbecues rivaling the finest cuisine anywhere. Salt air, beachwood fires, big fish, or simply photographing the wild Orcas (Killer Whales) breaching right off the port bow. Man. Is this heaven? Westcoast sunsets, lacquered wood finish, fantastic personal attention offers truly an experience you have to live once. TRAVELSAPIEN highly recommends the venue. The people who deliver this extraordinary exotic experience seem to have their focus on the right button.
Visit their website for additional photographs and indeed a great video where you can begin to feel the great Canadian outdoors and something few may ever experience. That would be a pity. One supersize enjoyment package for that extraordinary traveler. Talk about dominating the conversation at the watercooler. Perhaps this is your chance. www.tugboatcruise.com

GRANDPARENTS ON THE MOVE!

FIRST WE TAKE MANHATTEN THEN BERLIN Posted by Hello

GRANDPARENTS & KIDS TRAVEL - HOT! HOT!

GRANDPARENTS & TRAVEL Take America as an example. About one-third of American adults are grandparents. There are some 70 million plus in the USA with more added daily. It is expected they will grow to over 115 million by 2010. The average age? 47.
Statistics from American Demographics Magazine say 59% have grandchildren in the 8-12 age group with 57% aged 4-7. Today's grandparents have higher levels of education and income and take a more aggressive role in their grandkid's education and cultural enrichment. Besides with the stress on young parents in our society grandparents play a large role in the day care and babysitting of the kids. So why not travel? Living long, healthier and financially secure grandparents have opened up a major new market with grandparents traveling with their grandchildren. Tourism around the world is adjusting with even "Elder" Hostel's (www.elderhostel.org) and programs to match.

Recent statistics suggest that American grandparents, some six million are now vacationing with their grandchildren in a typical month! There you go. Put aside the golf clubs and ceramics, take the grandkids on a vacation they will always cherish. Another URL to take note of is www.grandparentsplanet.com There you will find an array of information about being the grandparent and options you can explore with respect to opening up a whole new book on personal gratification. A link you might wish to open is www.grandtrvl.com or www.eldertreks.com The URL's have been in the business for some time and lead in the growing movement pretaining to grandparenting travel and things to do.

Of course in America nobody can miss taking the younger kids to the Icon of Entertainment being the two Disney Resorts. Take a look at www.Go2Orlando.com and www.disneyland.com

Come on folks! Get off the couch and call up the grandkids. Time to travel!

Oh NO! We left them in Spain
